Chatter Launch Beta Chatter as a platform
Per the Washington Post, a lucky 100 large and small businesses, including Reed Exhibitions, Schumacher Group, and TransUnion, will begin to use Salesforce Chatter as the platform enters private beta. Salesforce says that private beta participants were chosen based on their existing Salesforce.com technology deployments and potential Chatter use cases.
Collaboration is moving to the cloud. Between chatter and salesforce Content Management, customers will have new tools to be productive. As salesforce expands its core functionality into social CRM it will be interesting to see what functionality Microsoft adds to sharepoint. How will customers use this new platform tool? What new applications will appear on the salesforce.coms appexchange? History will tell us, stay tuned.
